How To Create A Profile In Facebook?

Should companies allow employees to create Facebook business pages from the employees personal profile? Working on a 'Best Practices'

  • Example: a customer has many locations. The customer wants a biz page for each location. Each manager of each location creates a personal profile and then proceeds to create a biz page for her location. She adds another Admin so if she were to leave the company the company could still access the page. The page remains attached to the personal profile from which it was created but that person no longer works for you. Would love your 'best practice' feedback.

I would either require it of all locations or forbid it to promote uniformity.  In my opinion, I think most people who are 'Friends' with a business on FB rarely look at the business's profile.  The only interaction they usually have with the business is though pushed status updates.  With that said, it might be more effective to require each location to have its own profile (depending on geography) that way people are able to friend the one closest to them and receive updates specific to their location.  You can then set policies to keep visual uniformity but the different locations would be able to reach their client base easier.

A page is not attached to a personal profile. Any admin can add or remove other admins.  If a person has left your company, just remove him or her from the admin list.  You will also want to add at least one other person to help manage the page.
