Are there powerboat races around the world?

Are different races a consequence of a fallen world or really God's creation?

  • Why the Bible doesn't comment in the creation of different races but only of different ethnicities (Genesis11)? Is it because God is more interested in our behaviour than in our physical appearance? If different skin colours were created because of different temperatures in different countries and probably before the fall there was perfect weather conditions (not too hot or too cold). How much can we say that God really wanted different races to exist?

  • Answer:

The families that scattered from Babel brought different combinations of genes with them. But their physical differences were trivial. We all have the same basic brown pigment, and we belong to one race—the human race—descended from Adam. Have you ever been “people watching” in a shopping mall and noticed how different people look? So many shapes, colors, and sizes! In family photos that include my adopted daughter from China, it’s easy to see some of those differences. They aren’t major but nonetheless visible. My daughter will tell you that my eyes are rounder than hers and my skin is lighter brown. If all people descended from Adam and Eve as the Bible makes clear (Genesis 3:20; 1 Corinthians 15:45), why do we look so different? The Bible gives us the answers. Although Adam and Eve are often shown to be fair-skinned and blond, this was unlikely. To derive all the different skin shades from one couple, Adam and Eve likely were middle-brown in color. If Adam and Eve had a mixture of “light color” genes and “dark color” genes, then their descendants could have a wide range of skin color from very light to very dark, with most people somewhere between (as seen in the world today). Adam and Eve likely possessed genetic variation for eye shape and other distinguishing characteristics as well. As people migrated from Babel, different groups became isolated from others and likely married only within their language group. Each group carried a set of physical characteristics as determined by their genes. As they intermarried, certain characteristics would begin to dominate due to the group’s small pool of genes. Over time, different people groups displayed distinct physical characteristics. For example, Asians typically have almond-shaped eyes, dark hair, and middle-brown skin, whereas Europeans have round eyes and fair-colored hair and skin. The term race is often used to classify people based almost solely on physical characteristics. According to evolutionary ideas, these so-called races descended from different ancestors separated by location and time. However, based on biblical history, the term race must be incorrect. We are all one race (“one blood” in Acts 17:26), the human race, descended from two ancestors, Adam and Eve. When we stand boldly and confidently on God’s Word, we can correctly understand the unity and diversity of the human race. Acts 17:26 says: "And he made out of one man every nation of men, to dwell upon the entire surface of the earth, and he decreed the appointed times and the set limits of the dwelling of men, " We know that those born after the flood came from 3 men. Noah's sons Shem, Ham, and Japheth. So logically this scripture has to be talking about Adam, the "one man" who started it all. Meaning that diversity is something that was present before the flood. So if he set up our DNA in a way that allowed Adam and Eve to produce many nations or races from the start, he clearly views physical diversity among humans as a good thing. It was not a punishment for the fallen world of Noah's day. He was very explicit in telling Noah how he would punish those people. Genesis 6:17 says: “And as for me, here I am bringing the deluge of waters upon the earth to bring to ruin all flesh in which the force of life is active from under the heavens. Everything that is in the earth will expire." Notice that there is no mention of racial diversity as a punishment for their sins. Now seriously, do you really think the almighty God would forget to mention part of a divine punishment? No obviously not. He did not forget to mention it because it has nothing to do with the punishment. Acts 10:34 states: "At this Peter opened his mouth and said: “For a certainty I perceive that God is not partial," The bible even alludes to noticeable diversity in the physical characteristics of the Israelites. The Song of Solomon 1:5 says: “A black girl I am, but comely, O YOU daughters of Jerusalem, like the tents of Ke′dar, [yet] like the tent cloths of Sol′o·mon." Everything that God created was for a reason, he is the one who allowed for such diversity among humans. Have you ever heard the saying "Variety is the spice of life?" Well, imagine looking down on an earth filled with billions of people who look the same. That would really get old after a while. It's hard to imagine the guy who made this: ...doing anything boring. Romans 1:20 says: "For his invisible [qualities] are clearly seen from the world’s creation onward, because they are perceived by the things made, even his eternal power and Godship, so that they are inexcusable;" We can learn a lot about God by looking at creation, just as you can learn a lot about an artist by studying their paintings. One thing we learn is how we should view others who are different from us. It's amazing to me how two people who look exactly alike except something small like hair color, will fight to the death over that difference. That's not in harmony with God's view. He is a God not only of love but also variety. If we can't accept that, then we're not really accepting God either. Galatians 5:19-22 states: "Now the works of the flesh are manifest, and they are fornication, uncleanness, loose conduct,  idolatry, practice of spiritism, enmities, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, contentions, divisions, sects,  envies, drunken bouts, revelries, and things like these. As to these things I am forewarning YOU, the same way as I did forewarn YOU, that those who practice such things will not inherit God’s kingdom. On the other hand, the fruitage of the spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faith..." http://www.jw.org/en/publications/books/bible-teach/what-is-the-truth-about-god/

How do you breed animals for traits?   Isolated groups, that's how. Eventually you wind up with animals that have all the dominant traits of the original stock. That's what happened to us. Evolution and adaptation changed those dominant traits over time, but the underlying principle is the same. Books should be the tool that makes up for us having such short lives. Apparently, it isn't working out that way.

All life, including its structure and diversity, is the product of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evolution, a process which creates order out of chaos. You might want to take a few minutes to read about http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evolution; it could open your eyes to how God works.

Neither. They're the result of the human species adapting via evolution to different ecological niches.

1. There is no such thing as "races."  We are all the offspring of a core DNA that started from a small group in southern Africa.  2. There is no "god" so she really doesn't care what we look like or what skin color we have. 3. Skin color IS defined by a culture that exists in a certain geographical area of the world over several generation. So it has nothing to do with anything that "she" did or wanted to do. 4. Double whammy. A. There is no god, and.. B. There are no races.. so C. She didn't care one way or another. What part of reality are you having a problem with?  As long as any one individual homo-sapiens can mate productively with any other individual homo-sapiens, there are no races. One way to make clear that physical traits have nothing to do with it.. Did you know that EVERY dog in the world. No matter what color, what size, what configuration, all are DIRECT descendants of a small band of wolves (that still exist in original form) in southern Siberia.  They all have the same DNA within 98.9%

"How much can we say that God really wanted different races to exist?" If I might quote a song "What God wants, God gets." I've always assumed that our lives, our societies, every single aspect of our world was exactly the way that our omnipotent, omniscient creator intended. For if the creator wanted something else, assuredly that is what would be. Ps: the song is by Roger Waters

It's because of variation in the exposure to sun's rays... That is all it is really!! And a lot of human imagination...
