What is the mean and the median?

Could anyone explain what does "median maximum" mean ?  I googled it but didn't find a definition. Thanks!

• Context Working on a solar system which require to set some operation parameters, normally it only require to set maximum and minimum voltage, but this time we try new one and it requires lots of parameters including this " median maximum voltage" and the manual doesn't explain the definition. It has 5 parameters in the set, including: upper maximum threshold median maximum threshold lower maximum threshold upper minimum threshold lower minimum threshold And it's a SMA's solar inverter.

  I would guess that it means that there are a bunch of sets of something, each of which has a maximum.  For example, in a school, each class has a child of maximum height. If you record those maximum heights, you can place them in order, and find the middle one. That's the median of the maxima. Or possibly the median maximum.  But some context would help.
