What networking tools do you use?

• Networking is about relationship-building. Networking is not something that happens overnight -you generally have to invest the time to cultivate it. Nevertheless, once you build a solid network, you  find that it opens up new circles of networking, friendships and opportunities. What tools do you use to enhance your networking, both online and offline?

• Answer:

  I think Twitter is the ultimate networking tool because everyone is empowered to listen and at least reach out to everyone else. If you can;t establish new connections with that kind of power, your problem isn't in the tools. Facebook is probably next, but it co-mingles the professional and the personal in ways that make some uncomfortable. After that is LinkedIn, which is probably worst at creating new connections, but best at harvesting them when the time comes.
