What is a bounce rate and where do we use it?

Why is my bounce rate much higher with users not using Java? How do I fix this?

  • I run a simple wordpress blog, but my bounce rate is 81% for users not using Java (not javascript -Java), which is about 10% higher than with users that use Java. Why is this, and how can I fix it? What exactly does Java do?

  • Answer:

Update Wordpress to the latest version if you hadn't done that yet. Check carefully the content of your posts, pages and comments. In particular look for any suspicious <object> or <iframe> tags. A final test may be: change Java settings in your browser to 'ask for confirmation' when java content is requested, then visit the website and see if there are java requests when you browse the pages with the higher bounce rates.

i don't see any connection in there. I would check the keyword and the source those visitors come from. As Shane has indicated, Bounce Rate is only related to whether or not a visitor can immediately see what they thought they would see
