How do I download more memory?

How does the song or video buffers in temporary memory? Why can't I directly save it in my permanent memory. Why do I need to download it?

  • This question often comes in my mind, whenever I listen a a song or watch video on internet. Why can't I just save them directly. Why do I need to download it completely? What makes these two things different?

  • Answer:

The other thing that's missing here is that buffering is a process that takes the first part of a track, and loads it into memory, creating a buffer in case of poor network response (there's some of the track there waiting even if the network is slow bringing the next bit). When the contents of the buffer have been played, then it is discarded because it's not needed any more, freeing space up for more to be downloaded. So buffering is only temporary and only for a portion of the track at a time. At no point is all the track available. What's more, the buffer is the audio (or video) portion.. and not the rest of the file format that you would get from downloading it (tags, etc). You would have to recreate that tag independently. You can, quite easily, save track to disk while playing it, with something like Wondershare (or Windows Recorder). Those programs record the data stream as it downloads.
