Can my private practice be successful under these circumstances?

Since every human being is an aggregate of his genes, his conditions, circumstances, incidents and other things picked up externally from parents, friends etc, theoretically can a person be absolved from all responsibility for their actions? I understand, of course, in practice it would be folly.

• Please note that this isn't a theological or moral question. It's more to the science of whether we have a consciousness independent of external factors.

  It is just a scientific way of blaming everything on fate. everyone has choices, its what you choose to do that is relevant. your genetic makeup and upbringing might make you more inclined towards some choices, but that shouldn't be an excuse for irresponsible behavior. the world  is full of examples where people have overcome extreme physical, mental and circumstantial difficulties to become good people. Every mentally competent being should  understand their responsibility in the society
