Why do governments spend more time, money and effort building machines of death? Would it not make more sense to build love bombs? Drop it on your enemy and make 'em love you (and each other)?

Imagine if in '45 America had instead, dropped a massive love bomb on Hiroshima? If America had been shipping love bombs to the Middle East? If Hitler had been sending millions of Jews to Love camps? It seems like common sense to me that in making people love...you would solve a ton of problems: no revenge killings...instead -> love attacks! Your "enemies" would ambush you to hit you with love grenades and hugs! When I was a kid, I learnt something profound about people. It has been proven time and time again: it's possible to change people's perceptions, motivations and ideals...you just need to redraw the lines. Example: I joined a major restaurant chain as a waiter. Those days, it was punishment for being late or some other misdemeanor for you to be forced to wear a clown outfit. Whenever you a waiter was in it, he was the butt of any jokes and not one waiter wanted to wear it. When I came into the picture, it occurred to me that by wearing the outfit, the kids, with whom I have a natural affinity, would swarm to me, and in turn, tips from the parents... I would beg and demand that I be given the suit (when I was in the mood)..not only did it help me get noticed by the right people, but it catapulted me to upper management in less that 1 year (yes)... the point of the story is that by the end of 3 months, the other waiters were fighting me for the clown costume. There was now even, a roster to give fair chance to everyone to get into the outfit as there was only one of it! My different attitude towards an item no one wanted changed perceptions. If America suddenly destroyed all its weapoons of death, and started dropping these "love bombs" in stead, would the world then, slowly switch to trying to outlove each other? Get into endless love 'wars' where each nation south to be the most loving, peaceful and safe? I think its possible.

Answer:
The world awaits your invention of a Love Bomb and your demonstrated proof that it is not just some form of alien mind-melding technology to create the hive mind that acknowledges you as queen of the hive.

The US at least tried. Well, sort of, anyway... They've tried building a "gay bomb", a chemical weapon to turn enemy soldiers into sex-crazed homosexuals. Thankfully it didn't work - imagine US troops being overrun by those gays, who'd take no prisoners ;-)

Ignoring the sheer ridiculousness of the love bomb, you will notice quite quickly should you adequately research the field that killing human is very cheap, very easy and we have a access to wide variety of ways to fulfill it. Changing people's minds is expensive, time consuming and occasionally impossible. No argument works quite the same on two people and an equitable deal may not be viewed as equitable by all parties involved. You trust sufficient physical trauma to kill someone but rarely is the same true for people and the ideas they harbor, you can torture a person until they are about to die and they still won't like you or your reframing of philosophy. This is particularly for more extreme ideas such as a Hitler who believed the Jewish peoples of Europe were amongst other things sub-human or more bluntly genetically inferior. How could you possibly reframe this? Give them a make over and tell them to adopt Christianity? He thought their very existence was a blight upon the German people as if it was solely the existence and greed of that group of people sucking the life from Germany's bossom. The nuclear bombs were dropped to keep Japan out of Russia's hand by breaking the spirit of the people within it, hard to imagine the Japanese would've given up otherwise, the brutality of fighting island to island in the Pacific theatre was only really matched by the Japanese brutality as they took control of it. I dare you to reframe that one. Finally as it hasn't been mentioned, we are ignoring a key point, the Love bomb is a moral travesty. It subjugates free will and chemically induces agreement and as a result peace but at what an absurd price. Life is not so valuable as it is valued by those spend it freely, as our Middle Eastern neighbors have shown time and time again, living a moment free, subjectively speaking of course, is greater than willful obedience to an authority who deprives them of it.

Did you just eat a retard-candy? There is no Love Bomb. And my darling, can anyone exercise control over resources without military supremacy?
