What is the largest 3D television?

What's a more interesting innovation in television than 3D?

  • Sony is pushing hard on the 3D tv area but it's pretty boring IMHO and adoption is slow. Are their any TV innovations more interesting?

  • Answer:

Connected TV's? e.g. Philips NetTV, Samsung, Sony. They are all connecting their TV's to the web introducing widgets on tv, additional info, video and audio on demand, etc. Most TV's in store now do have this feature already. 2 major issues here: 1) More content providers should expand their services and open their data for connected TV and 2)  Consumers must hook up their telly :) UPDATE: Agree with Joshua and here some recent 3D news (ces) 3D camcorder! brings 3D to consumers as creators (in the end) futuristic 3D head mounted display

I wouldn't be so quick to give up on 3D TV.  It truly changes the TV experience.  Sure, there is a dearth of quality non-kids content available, but that will be changing.  Plus watching sports and music in 3D is a new kind of experience. I would look to innovations in this space and presume that once glasses-free 3D is a reality, the growth will be exponential.

Yes! Sony is working on OLED technique involving flexifoil tv that can roll up like wallpaper. Imagine that and lots of scifi movies are one step closer to now. Still in development ofcourse but my rule still stands: If you can imagine it, it's only a mattter of time for the reality to catch up ;0) Check: http://www.hifi.nl/nieuws/42525/Oprolbare-TV-Sony.html Cheers, Henk
