Where To Buy Cryzal Lenses In Vancouver?

What type of lenses should I buy for my eye glasses?

  • I'm about to buy my first pair of glasses online.  Partly because I'm cheap and partly because this will be a back-up pair. I've never had to choose the thickness of my lenses before.  In the past, the person selling me glasses has simply said, would you like the super-extra-special-awesome thin lenses for $99.99 and I've said "hellz yeah I want super-extra-special-awesome". Now however, I'm presented with less awesome options.  I don't really care how thick the lenses look (secondary / I'm drinking tonight pair). Here are my options: https://img.skitch.com/20110225-c8j49efw475np1efnrmtgnu7rt.jpg I'd like to choose the free lenses - however the website is recommending the more expensive $50 lenses due to my bat like vision. Should I throw caution to the wind and order the free lenses (ignoring the recommendation) or pony up the $50?

  • Answer:

Your prescription isn't particularly high, quite average really. A 1.6 index lens is approximately 25-30% thinner than a standard plastic lens. If you look at your current "super-ultra-mega-awesome" lenses and imagine they were a few mm thicker on the edges, do you think you could cope with this? Personally, for a backup pair, I really don't see it being worth the extra money.
