Are these common reactions to a bee sting?

Bee stings: does severe allergic reaction occur after being stung for at least two times?

  • As I understand, the immune system 'prepares' at first exposure, and severe reactions only happen after the second time where memory cells are formed. Is this correct? If so, if one has severe allergies to bee stings, they would only know after the second sting?

  • Answer:

It might be possible to have a cross-reaction to other insect stings, so I wouldn't bet on the first sting being safe. However, I'm not a doctor and I haven't taken a class, so don't quote me on an exam.

No. As far I know, if at all allergic reactions to occur.. it will be on the first sting itself. And allergy will also be there on subsequent stings. If a man shows no symptom of allergy on first sting then consider that he is not allergic to bee sting. He'll experience only pain in on next stings:)
