If I jailbreak my iPhone and later factory-reset the settings and return it for a warranty claim, will Apple store staff be able to detect that it was jailbroken?

Software based jailbreaking is a completely reversible process. Just use iTunes to reset the firmware and no one will be able to tell if the phone was ever jailbroken in the past.

This has already been made clear, but as extra proof, I have done exactly that, and once you restore your phone, it is impossible for Apple to know if you'd jailbroken it in the past! This is one of my main selling points when I convince people to jailbreak!
