Where Do I Place Google Analytics Code Inside a .ASPX Page?

Why isn't Google Analytics validating my demographics tracking code through Google Tag Manager?

  • I am trying to enable Google Analytics demographics tracking but Analytics says the tag isn't properly in place.  I am using the Google Tag Manager, so according to my understanding of the directions, all I need to do is to make sure Enable Display Advertiser Features like Remarketing is turned on (it is)...nevertheless, I can't get the tag to validate.  Anyone have any ideas of what could be wrong?

  • Answer:

One reason can be that you are using universal analytics  tracking that does not support Demographics reports

Chances are that you need to enable Display Advertising Features in GTM as well as in Analytics (Admin -> Property Settings -> Advertising Features). This should work assuming you aren't using modified GA tracking code. Enable Display Advertising Features - GTM Enable Display Advertising Features - GA Once you are done with that, don't forget to enable the GA demographic reporting as well as to publish the GTM tag. I'd recommend waiting about one day after you will have done all this. I hope it helps.
