What are business ideas that can work in rural India?

• Not every business can be run in Rural India as the environment is totally different than Urban India. What idea would you suggest that could be made successful. It includes profitable as well as non-profitable ideas.

  Well in essence your idea should solve a problem to begin with. Rural India is overflowing with a plethora of them such as electricity, water supply, sanitation.etc. You may also want to have a look at micro-finance, but there is nothing new in that sector. Pick a specific area you want to work in -> do a practical research (not just sit at home and read articles all day) -> try and get in touch with certain companies/NGO's working in that sector -> collate your data and charter your course. As far as success is concerned, it matters on a number of different factors. How good is your plan(inclusive of research, innovation and whatnot) , how healthy is your financial scenario, level of dedication to work for the poor, optimistic thinking...so on and so forth.
