I have an all finance background and currently work in finance. How can I get an interview to an entry-level Ruby on Rails developer?
-
I have been working for a financial company right out of college for the past three years. I have also been working on Ruby on Rails apps on the side as a hobby. I would like to switch careers and become an RoR developer. I have a github account set up with demo rails apps (most through tutorials), I would like to know how I can get an interview or a foot in the door for a company that would hire a beginner. Thank you in advance.

Answer:
You may have to start by offering to work at a really low rate or pro bono in order to build your experience. If you have projects and/or an online portfolio, that can help with marketing yourself at a higher rate.
