Where can I stay in central Paris to easily commute around?

  • I will be attending an exhibition  SIAL in October, I dont want to stay somewhere close to the Exhibition centre, its a very remote area, I'd like to stay in a central location where I can enjoy central Paris as well as easily commute to the exhibition area, thanks

    You want to stay at a place near any RER B stops inside Paris. RER B is a train line that goes through Île-de-France, north to south. It stops at "Parc des Expositions de Villepinte", which is where SIAL is hosted. If you're aiming at staying in central Paris, the stops you are looking for are, from north to south : - Gare du Nord - Châtelet-les-Halles - Luxembourg - Port-Royal - Denfert-Rochereau From any of these stops, it will take you around 45min to an hour to reach the tradeshow. Be aware these are expensive areas! If you wish to reduce cost, I would suggest you take the advice given by Julien Redelsperger and stay around "La Plaine - Stade de France". It's just one stop after "Gare du Nord". Enjoy Paris!

I once worked for the SIAL a couple of years ago. I stayed near the "stade de France" in Saint Denis. There are a lot of hotels, it's close from Paris City-Center (10mn with the RER) and it's not too far to go to work in Villepinte where the SIAL is organized. The RER station is called "Gare de La Plaine - Stade de France". You can make a request "hotel stade de france" in Google and you will find nice places. I know it's not Paris city center, but it's OK (cheaper and easier to go to work). Hope it's helpful ;-)

Try to stay somewhere along the RER B line..and preferrably in Zone 1 or 2...the center might be a tad too costly.

Gare du nord, Chatelet les halles, saint paul, are the places which are in the center of Paris. And these are very expensive too.
