What are the options for hosting a small plone site?

How much should a web site cost?

  • I was wondering how to set a price for a website (excluding domain name and hosting prices). Can anyone please help me with this? I have two cases. 1. A single page site with an AJAX contact form. This site doesn't need a CMS or anything to manage the site's content. For an example, please see the following site. http://superiortours.info/ 2. A site which needs to be built on Drupal with the following options. The theme is to be bought. This site is a magazine type one about sports. Three user access levels in addition to user1 custom search about 5 content types pages needs to be modified with views and display suite (lets say this reports about 20 sports) Facebook comments integration voting system for the articles A rough number would be much helpful.. Thanks in advance. :)

Very hard to say until you get down to the particulars, including design and build quality, how precisely you can spec the requirements up front, how little you change your mind as you go, etc., but I'm going to guess $1,500-$2,000 for 1st one and $3,000-$5,000 for 2nd one. I'm sure you may be able to find people who will do for less and maybe they could.

The best way to determine the price of the sites you're trying to sell would be to visit some of the freelancer sites like http://Upwork.com http://Freelancer.com etc... Maybe you already have profiles on some of them and create two jobs with the specifications you mentioned above. Freelancers will give you their rate and you'll know how much can you charge. That's probably the way and method that will provide you with the most exact info. Regarding everything else, I can reffer you to a spot where you can save tons on hosting expences, but for that just PM me, don't want to post links here. Cheers!

There is no specifics to how much a website should cost, but there are factors to consider. Below are things to look into before you write a website quote for a client or request one. Static or Dynamic Site Kind of Client (Company or Individual) Status of Client (Big, small or Averagely placed) ETD (Expected Time of Delivery: QuickTime jobs pay more than its opposite.) Website functions (Portal or Application) Security Features to Integrate Choice of host (based of standards) Developer (Team or Individual) Expected Hosting Duration Available development facilities (CAM, Laptops, Internet, etc.) Availability of Project Information (if you have to buy data) And the list goes on. What I am actually saying here is that, you could use your discreation to tell your price for a web development based on some factors around you. Like in my country (Nigeria), web development ranges from $100-$100,000. So the client factor matters. I hope this helps you somehow.

This CRM is rather new but it offers some features which the others don`t have. I started using it for my SaaS projectrecently and, being honest, I am impressed. What I liked the most is: -         unlimited number of contacts under the same company (or lead); -         availability to set up custom security roles and access restriction for different employees; -         touchpoints recording; -         automation of sales, marketing and support (it was where I saved hours of time); -         opportunity to share documents with clients. Let me know if it helped. I will be glad to assist.)  https://www.google.com.ua

I know people who have spent zero on building a decent website and others who have spent over $200,000-- and the budget can go way past that, into the millions. But I think most people getting started can do it on a very low or free budget. There are some hosting companies that offer free websites in exchange for the hosting fees. Some actually offer a lot of options. A lot of people use wordpress, which offers free and for fee options. Most website developers use content management systems (CMSs) that already exist, then adapt and customize them. Wordpress and Joomla are probably the most popular. If you want a highly customized website with lot of bells and whistles, then it can get pricey. If you want a simple blog, then wordpress, blogger or others can work. There are also some packaged off the shelf software programs that help you to create a website. But most people, I think use on-line web tools. here's a 2015 article reviewing some of the best: http://website-creation-software-review.toptenreviews.com/ There are also third party shopping carts that can be added to websites if you are trying to get into e-commerce, and there are membership CMSs that allow you monetize your site without ads. Then there's google adsense-- which allows you to put simple code on your site and sell ad space to Google. There are also third party social sharing and commenting systems available.

A website costs between $50 and [$18 million](http://www.topsharepoint.com//most-expensive-website-in-the-world). If you want a $50 website, ask M. John R. Hanam, just be aware you most probably will get what you pay for. When it comes down to it, the website will cost you the amount you write the check for.  Most if not all professionals I know do not do $50 websites. @

Assuming clients are serious, provide them with a quote that goes somewhere along the lines of this calculation: 1) Say you spend 15 hours on #1 and the client wants revisions worth 5 more hours. 20 hours x RATE ($40-100) = $800-3000. 2) Say it takes 50-100 hours at the same rate... $2000-$10000. Just set your base rate, estimate the time and throw in a factor for complexity of work and see what they say. If your work is good, they'll hire.

1. 1 page site with a form. Look to sites like http://www.leadpages.net/ to quickly get a site like you're talking up. There are tons of options to optimize conversions, and nearly all of them are things you can do without knowing how to build a site, if you are willing to do the work. 2. A Drupal site like you're talking about is simple. Of course your description is pretty simple, and there are likely things we're not discussing that could add work. But it could be as little as 2 days of work to get up and running as described. Work with someone good, not the cheapest hourly person you can find, and you'll get what you need up and going.
