How far is Munich from Brussels by train?

I am traveling to Munich but fly into Frankfurt and hope to travel by train from Frankfurt to Munich? I hear there is a train which leaves from the airport. What is the name of the train and how can I purchase tickets ahead of my trip?

    If you are planning to travel by train in Germany, you need to bookmark http://www.bahn.de."  It will give you all train connections and costing information.  Trains leave every half hour and cost 101 euros.  If you are budget conscious and not in a hurry, buy a Laender ticket for Hesse and then get out in Aschaffenburg and purchase a Bayern Ticket that will get you all the way to Munich for a fraction of the ICE costs, especially if you are traveling with others.  You can't take the ICE trains with the Bayern Ticket, but you can put up to five people on a ticket costing about 30 euros.  It will take about 6 hours with this approach. There is also a Quer-durchs-land ticket for 44 euros that goes direct on the same slower RE trains. Have a schoene Reise.

In addition to Thomas Johnson, you can buy your Bayern Ticket on the train once you are over the border in Bavaria from the ticket conductor on the train, as often the train you are on to get to Aschaffenburg will also be the one to take you towards Munich. Of course this is a regional train and not a ICE.
