What Do I Have To Do To Better My Chances For An Internship?

What are the chances of a NIT metallurgy student with a research paper to his name and a pointer of 6.8 get an international internship? What are its chances for an internship with in the country? Where can I apply as I am the industrial training doesn't offer much to my CV?

  It is not the matter of pointer but it is the matter of paper which you have submitted. I don't have idea about the international intrenships for low pointers as, my college (NITK)  sent two students(Toppers of my class) to deakin  university. Point to be noted is there will always be a chance to get international intrenships mostly under professors of different universities whose work is related with your Research paper. If your work is good, they give a damn to your pointer. In INDIA, you can try for intrenships in INDIAN INSTITUTE OF METALS, and NATIONAL METALLURGICAL LABORATORY, apart from IITs. Once again the key point to be noted is your work should be really good and the should be related to the professors area of research. Then you need not worry about your pointer.  It is very difficult to get intrenships in industry.So better try for universities in INDIA and ABROAD.
