Does Facebook have a strictly professional website yet?

Can I combine the Facebook Likes for the URL of my website with the Likes for the Facebook Page of my website?

  • Specifically: 38k people have "Liked" the fan page for Academic Earth and appear at http://www.facebook.com/academicearth However, an additional 16k people have "Liked" the URL of our homepage (http://academicearth.org/) but they don't show up on our Fan Page. Is there any way for me to let Facebook know that this URL corresponds to our Facebook page so that those 16k appear on our Facebook Page?

  • Answer:

Currently, no. It is a common request though, so perhaps at some point merging Facebook fan pages, domains, and FB connect apps will be possible. If your goal is to increase the likes on your fan page instead of your homepage, you can put the "like" button for your fan page on your home page.

I have a similar query that may help the asker find something useful.. Is there a way, with HTML, to retrieve the number of likes from a page to simply put a number on another page that automatically updates, and then secondly, is it possible, using HTML, to use mathematics to have more than one of these numbers added together into a single number? (My case is for an external build your own site thing that allows HTML boxes)

No. I don't think Facebook would ever do either it as it would be open to much abuse.
