What is a good software and SaaS product inventory management system?

What is the best software/product/system to take inventory of deceased person's belongings?

• I know of software like Delicious Library, but I need something that will allow me to at least write a small description about an object, perhaps even take a picture, and do it quickly. I have a friend who's an executor for an estate of a recently deceased person and has several thousand items to go through. Any quick tips or concrete suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  You need asset, not inventory management.    They are not the same thing...for example, take a dining room chair.  In inventory management, the chair is a single part number with a quantity of X.  In asset managment, each chair carries a unique asset number (usually an ID Tag), so your asset inventory would have as many tag numbers as you would have chairs.   Mimic what moving and storage companies have been doing for years.  They will use either colored and numbered tags (manual system) or bar codes with hand held readers.  The former is cheaper and would be better if you are doing this one time.
