Scholarships for high school graduate?

What impact did scholarships have on your choice to go to graduate school?

• Please answer considering following Please share your experience on arranging scholarship for your studies.(I am poor recent graduate who is so troubled arranging scholarship. So just  want to know if its really normal and everyone has to pass this phase). Higher studies(MS/PhD) are expensive and a  decent student have two choices Less reputed institute more scholarship More reputed institute less scholarship PS: Ignore the tier 1 institutes(lets say top 25 universities in the world) as their graduate program are mostly fully funded.

  Well, I have been in this spot. I got admit in the university of my dreams without funding. It was not the IVY league or anything. Just a good US university doing great research in the field I was applying to. I also could not secure TA/RAship, so I would have to bear the cost of first year of studies in 10 of thousand of US dollars. Do keep in mind that there is a non-fringe chance of getting TA/RAship upon landing into the university. One of my friends did manage that. However, I did not go there. The Risk and its lasting consequences were very real for me.
