What is it like to be a Civil Engineer for a career?

What post-MBA career paths are recommended for a civil engineer who is planning to attend business school?

  • I am a civil/environmental engineer and plan to apply to business school soon.  I am not interested in Finance/Investment Banking and am exploring career options that suit my strengths/experience.  I have not had much exposure to the business employment world, and would like to know what is available/possible.

  • Answer:

    Check with any funds that invest in either infrastructure or property. I do not know what your civil engineering expertise is in, so this is a bit of a guess. Do not worry about MBA, if you have an engineering background, most of what you'll pick up is vocabulary.
