Why is there no specific marketing major in many undergraduate programmes? Is it involved in the business major?

In the UK top universities, such as oxford and LSE,there is no major that singly study marketing? What major should I study if I want to study marketing?

Answer:
You should look a bit more at the courses that the universities you're interested in offer. Imperial College for instance offers an MSc in Strategic Marketing which I think is pretty popular. And I would also advise you to not just look for marketing in the name of the course. Have a look at the course structure and see if marketing is a big part of it. Again, don't decide simply based on a course name. You need to look at the course content. It'll take a fair bit of work but you'll probably be better off at the end of it.

A2A. Was this a trolling question? Or did you just want someone to Google that for you? I just google'd "marketing undergraduate degrees UK" and this result came up no. 1 - http://www.whatuni.com/degrees/courses/degree-courses/marketing-degree-courses-united-kingdom/m/united+kingdom/r/8801/page.html - now I've never been to the UK and I know very little about the universities there. That said, it would appear there are university undergraduate programs for marketing there. Good luck with your school search.

1) There aren't enough marketing students to establish a School of Marketing. And really, there never should be; because you don't know what marketing works and what doesn't until you strike out on your own. (I've done some marketing and publicity without taking a single college course in either.) 2) Marketing is typically offered as a "tract" of courses within the School of Business. 3) If you're unable to get at least 1 year full-time (2 years PT) internships before graduation, then you've wasted your investment on a paper degree shilled by the higher education hucksters. If you end up as such a victim, then join my anti-university crusade!

A2A. Very much so. Marketing is not a technical field and is therefore not allied with STEM majors as a minor. It makes a lot more sense to associate it with a B-School.

You can pursue any other major you are interested in. Marketing might be part of your studies. According to experts it's not what you study in school makes you awesome at marketing, It's that when you work in the field. It makes your learn so many things, the hard and easy way. Since marketing is a very vast you cannot study every aspect of it in school but you can study most if it. My point is that go for very best major you feel as to relevant for your future career goals. After completion of degree you could pursue MBA or executive MBA. Executive MBA worth a lot more in job markets. You need to have relevant experience. You will be interviewed and very best candidates will be selected for executive MBA by best Business schools, like, Oxford Business School. Their are other professional bodies providing Education in Marketing at very professional level you should look into that and you should discuss your interest and knowledge about these professional bodies with your teachers. They will give you, if not perfect, a wise advice and path to go for. One professional body I know is UK based named CIM. Hope it clears some of your questions.
