What are the most required courses for a student to learn in a master's in computer science?

To get placed in one of Top Software firms in US?which courses does student has to know other than Data Structures and Algorithms?

It depends on the company, but any course that improves your problem solving abilities is going to be a huge benefit. I know of courses in Columbia that are built around problem solving. It would also help to take courses on discrete math and probability. These are two topics which often come up in interviews. Beyond that, it depends on the company, and the role. For example, if you wanted to work at Adobe, graphics would be a good role to take. If you wanted to work as a systems software engineer, operating systems courses would be a good bet. If you wanted to interview at Oracle, brush up on your database knowledge.
