Can I be an astronaut if I take bsc physics and later msc?

How do I make maximum use of a year off?

  • I have completed my graduation ( BSc physics) from an arts and science college in India. I cannot make it to the IIT's etc for a masters in physics as my rank in the entrance examination isn't good enough . I intend to pursue a masters but I want to make it count as my BSc curriculum didn't help me learn much conceptually. I have tried studying on my own but I have a long way to go before I actually become competent in the subject. I haven't applied outside India as well. I really want to study Msc only where the curriculum is well structured challenging and where my peers and profs are competent and enthusiastic . My grades in college have been average . Incase I decide to take a year off and apply abroad and also give the entrances again , I want know the best strategies .

"I really want to study Msc only where the curriculum is well structured challenging and where my peers and profs are competent and enthusiastic" Who doesn't!! Trouble is you can judge only after you enter. Instead of worrying about how good institutes are, you should worry about how good you are. Are you disciplined  enough to systematically study and clear the JAM entrance test for MSc in physics? Find out the JAM syllabus and start solving problems from ANY book. Stop READING physics. Collect all your popular science books and send them to the recycle guy. They are useless. Stop worrying about concepts and start solving problems. The concepts will find you automatically!
