How many wiki sites are there?

Why don't Q&A sites like ChaCha.com, answers.yahoo.com and wiki.answers.com get more recognition for their popularity?

  • Quora gets so much buzz in the Valley, but these sites are an order of magnitude more popular (and continue to grow).

  • Answer:

From my perception, first it is marketing which brings attention to users than comes the usability. Yahoo answers had have a long history. Quora on the other hand is another representation of Yahoo. For logical and authentic answer I had never trusted Yahoo and I will never trust Quora too. I feel that StackExchange is a better platform with more precise answer. My friends who are expertise in their fields didn't appreciated Quora. They said its a marketing platform which is designed to do motorization. No matter what you time will become an answer eventually.  They also referred StackExchange which they feel more appropriate for authentic answer, but that also lack users perception. In short, I've seen people loving wasting time on internet; Quora , FB, Twitter, Tumblr and Pinterest have potentially no use for them. They all are now designed to develop revenue. Those who understand this spend their time on something useful.
