How do I make my Q/A private?

How do I make the switch from a software QA engineer to a software developer?

  • I am a Software QA Engineer in a product based firm in USA. I have an MS in Computer Science from a reputed University. I regret my decision of taking up a QA job. During my MS it was so difficult to get interview calls and I was so desperate to find a job that I ended up accepting a QA role. I also have some QA+Dev work ex before my MS. Currently I have 3 years of QA expereince on my resume. Is it still possible to move to development? I tried making the switch in my current company but it seems difficult to happen. Please let me know what should be a good strategy to make this switch possible. I am thinking of two possibilities : 1) Taking up some courses and working on some software development projects to add to my resume. 2) Interviewing for a lesser paying software development job which might be easier to get and then trying for the same role in product based firms. Any advice would be really appreciated. Thanks!

  • Answer:

You can do following points: * Start to learn any one programming language * You can join any online or offline classes for the learning * Start to develop your own project and showcase Also, Be ready to accept job which pays to little less than you have. (You may get any job offer, where your current experience won't count) Hope this helps you. :)
