What courses within the computer engineering field will help me get the best jobs?

Answer:
Here's my top list of fields to study (not ordered): Data structures and algorithms - the interviews at the best companies are always targeting those topics. If you are lucky you might get a job where you actually end up using those skills. Statistics - if possible find a class that includes programming. Databases - this knowledge will always be useful for software engineers. Systems/Networks/OS - same as the above, it's important to know what the layers under your code are doing. Machine Learning/NLP/IR - the hot thing right now. Programming languages - types, semantics, also try to get exposure to as many language styles as you can - functional, logic, etc. Math - the main benefit is that it teaches you abstract thinking and how to make connections between different fields.
