What are good team-building volunteer opportunities in the peninsula/Bay Area?

  • For our team's next offsite/team building event we want to find a way to donate our time rather than going on another booze cruise. However, it's been difficult finding a place for 8 people to show up and volunteer for 4 hours during business hours.  Any Quorans have ideas?

In the UK many of the formal opportunities are oversubscribed and the tasks given can be less meaningful than back in the 90s when this was a new idea. I think the best approach now is to contact a small charity and offer to paint a clubhouse or clear a garden. You could contact a residential charity and offer to turn an area into a sensory garden, with plants that smell and are interesting to touch.One benefit of adopting a small organisation is that you can return and see the work evolve over time.
