How do you enable Ubuntu 10.04's pretty bootup screen on a command-line build?
-
I have installed a command-line build of Ubuntu as I wanted it as minimal as possible. I have since added gnome, gdm etc to make it simply a lightweight version of the real thing. Now I would like to enable the full versions boot screen if possible!

Answer:
The solution was to install the ubuntu plymouth theme from the repositories. Simple once you know how!

Have you tried just installing the ubuntu-desktop package? I think it will pull all of that stuff in.
