Do people working in the IT industry contribute to the growth of India?

  • Following up this question From small age we have been telling a statement tat India is a Agricultural country. But now with a decade time. India has grown to a level that it is also called as IT nation. And we all know that IT has really contributed to our economy and produced many Jobs in our country. But i was always see criticizing IT saying that it never help in growth of a country and ppl working for IT are working for some abroad nations(mostly). It helps only the educated people. And i would really want to know if people in IT are contributing to growth of India or as others said we are working for some other country?

  • Answer:

Ofcourse it contributes..because of automation in our country we are able to deliver at faster rate and become more efficient...we can now spend more time in strategic level because the execution is taken care by IT sector.

Well the fact is yes Information Technology industry is not contributing anything significant for the economy and now it is more of a burden on economy. The disadvantages of the I.T boom are much more than it has benefitted. The problem is it is not being used where it's requirement is absolutely necassary.Rest of it's uses are merely additions. The best use of Information Technology was is in administrative services which has hardly improved over time.Indian I.T companies cannot compete with the kind of stuff that is being produced at the Global level. They are at a whole new level Indian I.T companies are basically the Internet Explorer lazy and inefficient. Yes India is an agricultural country but that was the prime reason India was very good in terms of natural resources.India is still one of the best in terms of food atleast I believe. So Information Technology boomed in the global market and the trend got caught in Indian Market.Indians got involved in it.Now as most of Multi National Companies required work force so they started hiring Indians for getting their lower end work done. These MNC's were employing a lot of Indians. And to top it all the Indian government was favoring MNC's to open centers in India rather than encouraging local entrepreneurs. So they were basically solving problems of other countries rather than their own social problems. Also the MNC''s were also paying Indians living in India to do jobs that don't elevate their skills much.So what benefit they was actually a stake in the matters of our country. They won't admit it publicly but the political affairs in our country , our law system directly effects their business interests.See the Vodafone case how easily the company got away by evading tax.Had the same thing been done by an Indian for example in US it would have been fucked up.See the case Ranbaxy. Also I.T can be best utilized in the following sectors a) Education b) Communication Services like SMS , Email c) Information Portals like websites d) Administration and in government procedures making existing processes fast and transparent e) Regulatory Functions like monitoring of activities of NGO's, Trusts,Cyber Crime Prevention , Fraud Detection etc. This will make the system more transparent and difficult to break. The quality of work that is done in especially Indian I.T companies is pathetic. For I.T industry to provide any value to the Indian Ecosystem it is absolutely essential to compete with the Multi National Corporations.People with knives made from paper simply cannot compete with warriors of Spartan Calibre. They need to be motivated enough to fight unless they will be slaughtered and that's what is happening now Indian Entrepreneurs are getting slaughtered at the hands of MNC's. When all the odds are against you one requires to be motivated enough to counter them.An Indian Brain is basically programmed to think only in terms of money and there is not much that can be done about it  an Entrepreneurship Eco-system is developed over time. The Indian Eco-System has got screwed up over years. There is nothing much we can do about the damage that has been done. There are two things called IQ and EQ. Unfortunately we are basically programmed to develop IQ but EQ is more important than IQ.There is no such thing as collective responsibility and accountability in India. A - Improve the Quality of most of the Engineering Graduates(esp. from Tier II / III colleges) I hate to say this but I feel they should be should down with immediate effect. There are many alternate of providing education. There are only producing literate graduates and well educated people.Well versed with English and being well educated is a different thing. The whole Indian Education system needs a shock right now.Our ancient gurukul systems were producing much more Responsible and Educated Citizens. But they were promoting orthodox principles in the name of Religion that was the only flaw because of which they failed to make an impact for long. The major problem is that the graduates they are producing have almost zero Risk appetite and fighting spirit. The whole Indian Education Eco System was getting built on heap of lies.Sooner or later the building had to break. The AAP movement is just a sign depicting it. Adding salt to the wounds is the Common Citizen who is proud to be Indian without any reason.Patriotism towards humanity is more than Patriotism towards a country. The biggest problem is that all the problems we face are highly interlinked. One problem cannot be solved without solving the others. It's more like a Chakruvyuh. The only way the quality of Engineering Graduates improves is when they start creating visionaries in learning phase of students. This does not include motivational talks and events in Five Star Hotels and charging them huge loads of money to make them listen to speakers. This includes setting up incubation centers within universities that not only provide funding to students but also trains them in solving problems that are of significance for our country like creating products that are helpful for the humanity.I am quoting a dialogue from the movie "The Wolf of Wall Street". "My highly trained knights my killers my killers who will not take no for an answer my warriors who will not hang up the phone until their client either buys or dies." Imagine if these Engineers were motivated to such a level they would be rather kicking Americans butts rather than licking them. Now about those that think "OUT OF THE BOX" the best they can do join the community having similar mindsets. The problem is "OUT OF THE BOX" thinkers don't remain long "OUT OF BOX".Risk taking ability is always required along with it to create any significant impact. We must learn from the Japanese the never say die attitude. It is about our attitude towards life. This is the Japanese attitude : "If one can do it I must do it.If no one can do it I must do it". This is the Indian attitude : "If one can do it let one do it.If no one can do it how can I do it."
