How to get a specific data after post method?

Can I get into a computational biology PhD program with a 3.2 GPA in physics from 2010, post-bacc research/classes with As, and 3 years of industrial data science/biostats experience?

  • I have a physiology publication from 2011, a recent abstract (stats applied to clinical health data), and now three years of industrial experience working in data science/statistical programming with R at a biotech firm. I'm also a post-baccalaureate student (part time, while working), recently acing freshman Bio, O. Chem and Stats (4.0 so far). Do I have a chance at a good program? Is there anything else I could do to improve my chances?

  • Answer:

I got it with a lower GPA than you.. I would recommend that you should have stellar recommendations, great SOP (precise), great research projects and definitely research papers to get compensate for your GPA. Do some research, talk to/mail/skype/meet Professors with whom you would like to work.
