What are the best graphic design schools?

The Rhode Island School of Design () is consistently ranked in many publications (including U.S. News and World Reports) as the top design school in the US and worldwide. I would agree with their assessment from personal experience, as well as point to the numerous successful and well known artists and designers that were educated there – http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Rhode_Island_School_of_Design_people I was enrolled in the Graphic Design Program and have followed the careers of my graduating classmates, a large number of them now work at very well know consultancies or are successful freelancers, the teaching staff, many of which are famous themselves are amazing instructors.

I've seen several questions on Quora about design schools and I'm consistently amazed at how often my alma mater, the Ringling College of Art and Design, is overlooked. Yes, it's small, but the placement rating is great and is a beautiful place to spend four years! Not to mention, the Ringling alumni network is a great one to have and it's so easy to get to know nearly the whole school and community. I've heard a lot about RISD, most of them were amazing. I have heard that they're a better fine-arts school and Ringling is a better design/animation school.

Penn State University http://graphicdesign.psu.edu/ and Temple's Tyler School of Art http://www.temple.edu/tyler/ are two schools I would highly recommend in PA, that have always turned out very talented and skilled graduates with great work ethics.
