  I nominate... Purple!I wanted to pick a non-spectral color (i.e. a color that doesn't have a certain wavelength associated with it like blue or red) since that has a certain "synthetic" ring to it. Colors on the grayscale fit this, but that might make people think of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grey_goo, and "black biotechnology" just sounds like scientists are practicing the Dark Arts or necromancy. Plus, purple is traditionally associated with royalty, so its a fitting color for the soon-to-be-dominant age of biotechnology.
