After doing masters in the us which field offers better job prospects -chemical engineering or computer science (I have a bachelors degree in chemical engg)?

Just about last week,  I read a small article in the the newspaper that the vacancies for the chemical engineers were not filled for the want of the candidates .  IT sector hard lured masses so much that wetter very few spring for chemical engineering course, leaving a hide gap between the demand and soule of chemical engineers.  Do I spot the opportunity?

Computer science is a vast field now, with endless specialties. And it is not as if CS and ChemE are mutually so exclusive. CS is now more a "generic skill" with high demand in the foreseeable future if you choose the right subjects within CS. If you are focused more on the job prospects, choose CS. What is your interest, just job?

This is for international students. After paying very high tuition and having time limit to get a job after you graduate you need to find a job. For that companies should sponsor you H1B work pertmit. If you see the list of companies that sponsor VISA 80% of them are in CS. For chemical engineering there are companies like intel, dow, and shell which sponsor VISA but they do only for PhDs. So if you're looking for job, look at reality, where lot of opportunities are, it's not about the interest. Who knows you can loose interest after 2 years down the line in some field which you choose.
