What causes old versions of files to be delivered by Apache on CentOS 6?
-
I have CentOS running as a VM via VirtualBox on a Win 7 host. I dev on the host and mount the directory of web deliverables on the guest system via a VirtualBox shared drive. Interpreted stuff updates, but static CSS and JS do not. No caching is enabled in Apache. A wget performed on the guest gives the same results. It's definitely not a client-side issue.

I managed to answer this one on my own. The issue stems from the files in question being mounted as a network (in this case vboxsf) drive. Disabling SendFile in Apache fixes the issue. I wouldn't suggest this in a production environment, but it's fine for a dev box. More info - http://timothynott.com/blog/2011/07/virtualbox-revenge-of-the-shared-drive/
