What does it mean for conditional call forwarding to be active?

Answer:
This means that some kind of call forwarding (diverting) is activated for your phone. The following Call forwards can be activated by the customer using his phone: CFU (Call Forwarding Unconditional) means that all incoming calls will be diverted to another number or a voicemail. CFB (Call Forwarding on Busy) means that incoming calls while you're in another call (and don't have Call Wait service active) or the ones you reject (this also sends Busy signal from your phone) will be diverted. CFNRy (Call Forwarding on No Reply) means that all incoming calls you don't answer in a specified number of seconds will be diverted. CFNRC (Call Forwarding on mobile subscriber Not ReaChable) means that all incoming calls while your phone is off or out of coverage will be diverted. You can check and activate/deactivate these diverts usually through the Call Settings menu of your phone. If none of them is active, then you have CFD (Call Forwarding Default) which is triggered the same as CFNRC, but it can be activated/deactivated only by your provider and it usually diverts calls to your voicemail or some other service like info SMS on missed calls while phone was unreachable.

Calls are forwarded to a number you have designated when the line is busy or unanswered. This means you can answer the phone if you are there and it will not be forwarded. The alternative, remote call forwarding, forwards all calls without ringing your phone.
