What is Paris fashion week about?

Where can I find affordable and clean accommodations in Paris for the next Fashion Week?

  • All the hotels I've checked out in Paris are really expensive, totally ridiculous for just a short vacation.

  • Answer:

Paris is full of very reasonably priced, clean hotels - literally thousands of them. In fact, it's one of the best cities on earth for finding decent accommodations. I have never paid more than US $175 for a hotel in Paris and have always stayed in nice places. I have paid much less than that and been perfectly happy as well. No one in Paris has ever been rude to me, either (though I very much doubt they know I am American). At any rate, it's hard to give specific recommendations without knowing what your budget is. "Affordable" to you might be expensive to me, and vice versa.

During the latest Fashion Week a friend of mine was looking for a hotel in Paris. I recommended her the Relais Saint Honoré but it was full. They recommended her their sister hotel the Relais du Louvre, which is located near the Louvre as its name says. So it is very convenient as well if you are going to Paris for the Fashion Week, since it is in the same neighborhood! The style of the hotel is "classic chic" and authentic, it's very cozy if you like character hotels. So if you prefer design boutique hotels of course it might no be your style. But there is not doubt it is fashionable since apparently Sarah Jessica Parker stayed there for the filming of the last episode of Sex in the City (I read it here: http://www.bonjourparis.com/story/hotel-relais-du-louvre-it-all-comes-down-location-/). In the end my friend did stayed there and she loved it. It also has excellent reviews on Tripadvisor so I guess it's not bad indeed! Here are the address, website etc: Le Relais du Louvre 19 rue des Prêtres-Saint-Germain l'Auxerrois 75001 Paris, France http://relais-du-louvre-paris.com/ Hope this will help! :)

There is no “affordable” in Paris: you can find expensive and crappy, or outrageous and almost OK.  Your best take is most likely  short-term apartment rentals. Several of my friends are operating services, but it's an emerging market: Maïté from http://www.ComeInParis.com should be the friendlier to Americans. Don't hesitate to mention my name.
