What does it take to be a computer student?

I have been a very unproductive student in college (still in college).  I believe I will be graduating with very poor grade sheets in B-tech CSE. I might take 4+1/1.5 year to graduate. What things can I do in computer science to compensate for this?

  • In a country like India where there are more engineers than plumbers, what courses/short courses I should do in the extra time that I am going to take to graduate in so that I will appear employable at the time I finally finish my stretching beyond time degree. Clearly my resume can better serve as a trash bin cover,which makes me contemplate what smart additions should I make to compensate for the poor B-Tech degree?

Programming projects Cloud-based platforms such as Google App Engine, Amazon EC2 and Heroku have now made it possible for beginners to create and run cloud-based apps free of cost. Creating such apps can help you add Cloud Computing to your resume! For other areas, consider searching Quora for pointers. Example: Last, but certainly not the least: complete your degree in four years. Analyse which of the skills and technologies are most desired by the industries or the ones that interest you and make an in depth study of those skills. Develop your problem solving skills by solving problems in various online judges. It will go a long way in improving your technical skills and thus boost up your market value.

Just learn a lot of thing through internet. Knowledges are free, and lot of them written in the internet. College can give you a legal certificate to find an elite job, but if your knowledge only limited by your classes course, you'll get a worst positions ever because people will say that you only have certificate but can't do anything.
