What are some career choices in the medical field?

What are the career choices for a software engineer who wants to move away from a software field?

  • Things are not that great at my end. Although I am a good developer but the place where I'm living doesn't have any scope.

    Just an idea, but I knew a guy who was a musician before he was a programmer. He said the mental process was much the same.

Sounds like you are unhappy with your location more so than with being a software engineer.    Perhaps you should look into moving to another geographic location while sticking with software engineering.   It isn't like there's only one place on earth where you can get a job doing software work. Or, if I'm mis-reading what you are unhappy about, if you are working for a company that does more than just software, perhaps you'd find something interesting by exploring other departments within your industry.  Knowledge of how the computers work can be very useful even if you move to a position of just using the computers as an end-user.
