Which is the best ski resort to buy an apartment in Europe for someone from London?

  • Say you are British, lived in London and had €300,000 to €400,000 to spend on a 2 bedroom ski apartment that you wanted to use for a lot of long weekends as well as a few weeks a season; and you and your friends are good skiiers (having done seasons) which resort would you pick?

    Consider the Trois Vallées. The Trois Vallées is a huge area. Courchevel, Meribel and Val Thorens are well connected. And there are other nearby resorts with good skiing. It is a bit farther from Geneva but is also accessible from Lyon and Grenoble.

Plus Decent choice of flights from London from multiple airlines Short transfer time (an hour drive from Geneva airport to town centre) Good roads (duel carriageway pretty much to the town centre) that are not likely to be hit by snow closures and give a pretty predictable drive time Excellent skiing when you get there Choice of resorts in the valley (and places like Megeve, Flaine, Courmayeur and Verbier possible for a day out) Nice town Minus Best to have own transport (but car hire split from Geneva works out cheap) Not ski in ski out Not the best of beginner resorts

Bourg st Maurice/Les Arcs -  You can get the train direct from London and pick up an apartment from €40,000. It is also an amazing ski area.
