Why is the Malayalam TV serial industry pathetic in terms of content and matter, despite having a high quality movie industry, drama industry, short film industry and literature which is constantly bringing out exceptional works?

Serial Industry across India is very pathetic. There are a many people who download ENglish TV Series and watch even I have watched a pretty few and someof them even outcast movies. But despite of a high standard of Film Industry for languages like Malayalam bengoli Marathi hIndi etc why they don't have atleast a shadow of that brilliance even in their Miniscreen industry ??

The truth is , most of this malayalam serials are copied or taken from other serials. If you are a malayali you would be knowing about this stupid serial called " amma" I guess its the story about a mother losing her daughter and she comes to the same house as a maid. Its the worst serial I have ever seen . I have asked so many people Why they see such crap. Anyways once I was on a trip with my benagli best friend and I saw her family seeing this serial and they explained the story and it was same as the one in malayalam. Another reason is all the washouts from the film industry goes to the serials. The new change in the film industry is mainly due to the upcoming young writers and directors. The serials generally have the old practitioned directors who lacks imagination its mostly the writers. The stablity of the serials according to them lies on how long the serial will run m so they have to make up such dramatic situations to strech it. The idiocy of the writers is very known when there are scenes violating legal and logical rules for the sake of drama. Well this isn't just with malayalam serial industry. Its there everywhere in India.

It's mainly because the audience for malayalam serials are middle aged women. They usually like to watch family and sentimental issues in serials. They enjoy them more than comedy or realistic serials.The channels cannot target a large audience group with a new gen story.For example, there were some new gen serials that that spoke about the life of youngsters in many channels but many of them never got viewers and were forced to stop in the middle of nowhere.

Serials if written and directed with common sense and logic, then it wouldn't have lasted for more than one year..that's why it became idiotic and filled with unnatural incidents.
