What are good machine learning companies to work for if one wants to relocate to Israel?

  • Relocation is not immediate but within a few years. Which companies have big engineering offices in Israel? The companies should have jobs for ML experts, and not necessarily be a pure ML company (Google is a good example).

  • Answer:

    PayPal has a large office in Israel, and their Israeli team is almost solely dedicated to ML in risk management (used to be the old FraudSciences team).

Google, Yahoo, MS, Facebook (thru Onavo), EMC, Ebay, Akamai have offices here. AMZ is expected to open one in 2014. Some finance firms or banks do also, and there's currently a lot of need for computer-vision people. There are quite a few people with ML background in Israel, though, and this trend is expected to continue, so don't expect to necessarily work in ML.
