• I read the story on BBC history magazine, but there is a part of the story I really don't understant, can someone please give me an idea? Here is the whole paragraph "Since the letter was postmarked 5 August, it seems reasonable to assume that the Borussians agreed it on the evening of 4 August, and that when they left their frat-house that night, be-spurred and toasted-up, these young bloods were in the mood to rub the certainty of exactly who ran the Prussian Rhineland into the nose of anyone who crossed their path?" What does it mean "to rub the certainty of exactly who ran the Prussian Rhineland into the nose of anyone who crossed their path?"

  They were looking for a fight(s), and their letter gave them authority to beat the person up, then arrest the person for assault and battery. Borussia - latin for Prussia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Borussian_myth), politically uniting Germany.  Prussia had one of the best standing army of the time, and was important in Napolean's defeat at Waterloo (by blocking his retreat); compulsory schooling, and starting schooling for younger children (Kintergarten) can be directly linked with Prussia.
