Answer:
Yes yes yes! Absolutely terrible idea. Search engines hate duplicate content and will come to hate it more and more in the future. It dilutes your site and reeks of article marketing. Write amazing content and get people talking about it. Digg, Stumbleupon....... People love talking about stuff they love. That's where links come from.

Yep, it's a bad idea. If you want to use article submission websites you should create original content for them. Unfortunately, creating original content is difficult and time consuming and thus you will probably not find it to be worth your time to use article submission sites really heavily. I still believe it is a good idea to make a few submissions to high quality article submission websites, but to be effective you need unique content.

Do not repost on article submission websites. But rather build a nice network to share your content. Get others to share it. Even if they repurpose and link back to it. It is far better than just getting duplicated on bunch of crappy article sites.

I agree with Raj, this will not harm your rankings. It is a common misconception that article sites are treated as duplicate content. This would mean that high authority sites such as news agregators, rss feeds and sites like ezine articles would be considered spammmy and unnatural and this is a false perception. The use of content marketing using unique articles is actually a strong method of link building and relevancy and the way this works is by ensuring that the author tag is used and there is the use of citation which in fact links the article to the original author and source. If done correctly, then google will see this and your authority in your niche is of course strengthened and is seen as a strong relevancy signal as well as social signal if the content is then shared. SO in short, no it will not harm your rankings or your seo strategy at all if done correcty. Check the discussions on search engine land about this very thing or http://moz.com

Yes, it is a bad idea. Simply put, keep all content unique. Duplicate content won't help your SEO efforts and often gets thrown into the omitted results in Google's index. The ultimate goal should be to write authoritative content that folks in your industry will want to link too, share, engage in a conversation and talk about. Stay away from any type of auto submissions which send out duplicate content.

The best way to get more people to read the article would be by sharing it on Social Media sites. It does not matter how many sites you post the article, it all depends on the quality of the article. A good quality article posted on one site and shared within a good network is worth more than posting the article on multiple sites.

Also, Google has significantly decreased the value of article sites as part of the Panda rollout last year. Build value on your blog and push social sharing instead.

Definitely yes, it can cause a serious harm for your blog by search engines because search engines like Google hates duplicate content a lot and you are doing the same. If you want to get traffic increment then use your previously posted article on your blog as a link in a fresh article and then you can place it in a number of article sites. You can also use social networking websites for promotion of your blog because in these days these websites are also having good amount of users. Source:-http://www.tisglobaluk.co.uk/

I do not think it is a bad idea. I am sure people are misunderstood the duplicate content with content syndication. Posting the articles in different server and different article websites are not considered as duplicate content at all. " Correct me if i am wrong " I came across this and searched a lot for finding this answer. Google and other search engines treat this as content syndication bu not as duplicate content. But post you article is the best directories rather posting them in bad directories. please do not post 1 article in 100-200 directories but keep a limit and you can post them. I am sure that is not a duplicate content.
