I recommend Udemy for a good start at learning to program.

1) First you want to ask: "What do I want to build?". If you want to build an iPhone app you'll need to learn Objective-C/Swift. If you want to build a Web App? Then Ruby on Rails is probably your best choice. 2) It sounds like you're looking to build Web apps. If so, here's my suggestion for going about it... Start with One Month HTML: https://onemonth.com/courses/one-month-html ... you'll learn the front-end, CSS and building the structure and design of a site. And then after that I'd go to One Month Rails: https://onemonth.com/courses/one-month-rails Where you can learn how to get started with ruby, Rails, git, Heroku, Amazon Web Services... all the while building a Pinterest site. Full disclosure, I'm the co-founder of One Month. Me and my co-founder Mattan have been teaching programming for 4 years, and at universities like Columbia University, School of Visual Design, and Cooper Union. So yeah, I'd highly recommend it - and I'm happy to answer any questions you might have. Reach out any time.
