How can you create a different page in Wordpress?

How do I create a "coming soon" web page for only a single page in my WordPress site?

  • Most plugins I came across apply the "coming soon" page site-wide. I only want it for one page.   EDIT: the purpose of the "coming soon" page is to lead up to the opening of a new office location. So it's not to be used for the anticipation of a website, but for the single page that will be home to the new office's contact info.

  • Answer:

I would create a page with the future page's title and write into the body section "Coming soon" or upload a graphic that speaks "Coming Soon" and publish it. But why not just wait until you have something to day before you lead your visitors astray with a coming soon? Not sure, that I helped you here. I probably misunderstood your question. Don't be disappointed, maybe you can try it again?

http://wpplugindirectory.org/easy-coming-soon/#tabs1-screenshots Use this plugin, the First screenshot indicates you can create a page. However I would suggest you to make a custom post type or page and get  your hands dirty with CSS to decorate that one page instead of using plugins.

There are many plug ins you can use to do this but I like this one: https://wordpress.org/plugins/ultimate-coming-soon-page/screenshots/ It gives you the ability to capture email addresses and potential customers. There are many different types of coming soon pages for example countdown clock. Have a look into plug ins as they are easy to set up, but make sure you set any pages you are working on to private so people cant just guess your page names and view your site anyway.

I would rather suggest you to create a coming soon page with your email id and a form that collects email ids - much like a landing page rather than just a coming soon page. Because you might not be Apple Inc., where people awaits for the next product launch so your audience might not come back so why not get their email id and show yours to them. At least you can send them an apology email or a thank you email. And there are many plugins that can do that for you. https://wordpress.org/plugins/parallax-gravity-landing-page-builder/ https://managewp.com/wordpress-landing-page https://www.google.ae/search?q=landing+page+creater+wordpress&oq=landing+page+creater+wordpress&aqs=chrome..69i57.9498j0j1&sourceid=chrome&es_sm=93&ie=UTF-8

An easy way without any plugins and restrictions would be create a custom template in WordPress theme. Add your HTML/CSS and javascript etc. for any page you want coming soon to be displayed, select page template and its done. http://codex.wordpress.org/Page_Templates If you want to include this for any post, category or other pages, you can match the Url in address bar and redirect them to the coming soon page.

Check out the plugin http://www.seepdrod.com It allows you create a coming soon page on only certain pages of your website. So for example if you want to only show a coming soon page on http://example.com/new-section You can set the plugin up to do this.
