How can a fresher in electronics and communication engineering get a job in companies like Intel/Samsung/Nvdia etc?
-
I lack on the technical side of the engineering, and I want to move over my mistakes. I want to know the skills(technical) which i must posses so that these companies can hire me? I want to make electronics circuits at home (like filters/ sensors etc), how should i begin? I just want to put engineering to reality!

Answer:
As Arun Reddy pointed out, get your basics very strong. They can make a big difference. If you want to try some hands-on experience building circuits etc then I would suggest you to learn programming on MATLAB and Cadance. Cadance needs a license so you will not be able to use it at home but may be at university you can. The other possibility to learn hands on can be robotics/embedded system. You can buy a small package of microprocessor and learn about burning codes in it and programming a microcontroller/processor. Other than this, it will be tough to get any othe hands on because that will need high expenditure that even a university cannot spend. If you can to get in the mentioned companies, work hard on subjects like Analog and Digital circuits, IC Design, VLSI, Devices and Circuits, signal processing etc. These are some core subjects you have to master if you want to get into such companies. How to get into such companies, I don't know. May be apply online or via a reference or career fairs or campus placements. You can also apply online via their job portal, but the response time is not very good and you might have to wait a lot. https://studyabroadgre.quora.com/ECE-EEE-list-of-specializations-for-MS-M-Tech

The basic knowledge of electronics is the key. The companies mentioned fall under Semiconductor industry and have various product ranges. The have jobs vary from hardware design, software design, system design, firmware design, product engineering etc. The skill set required is as varied as the jobs themselves. However that being said coming from Electronics background here are a few topics you should be knowledgeable as a fresher : 1. Digital design - Absolute must. 2. Electronic circuits - Most of the industry works on CMOS so a basic understanding of the device operation(electrically) is a must. 3. Device physics - Understanding on CMOS circuit operation at silicon level is also key. 4. Coding skills - Hardware description languages like Verilog and System verilog are industry standards. Scripting languages like Perl are commonly used for task automation. 5. Communication - Many communication based Semiconductor companies look out for people with good background in analog and digital communication. 6. Industry specific - Computer architecture & DSP ( Processor design), RF circuits ( Wireless design) 90% of the jobs exist on Digital design and 10% in analog design. Analog design is whole different field and hardly open for freshers.

For both Samsung and nvidia: Make your degital design concepts very strong. Study computer architecture and try to design 32 bit CPU and control unit ,pipeline on your own. Use digital design concepts. Knowledge of any hdl will be handy for practice

You have some more technical answers below. But the thing that will really get you a job is the value you can be sure you bring to others, and your ability to present that to the people best situated to hire you.http://jobs.theherzes.com/get-a-job-at-x-corp answers this to some degree. Basic knowledge of your core branch is very necessary. Along with that good communication skills and begin updated with daily trivia around the world helps. Along with knowledge in your own field, develop curiosity for other things and have a basic know how. Critical Thinking and Clear Judgement Capability helps.
