How to create another listview adapter?

How can I link Wi-Fi adapter from my Mac (Wi-Fi sharing mode) to my VirtualBox guest?

  • I put my Mac's wireless adapter in WiFi tethering mode (via Create Network under network setting). I want to somehow bridge this with my VirtualBox instance, but I cant seem to find the correct adapter to be bridged into. Checking into en0 adapter on the host, it only has self-assigned IP, 169.254.0.0. Tried to bridge the guest into this en0, but it failed to get DHCP response and no IP assigned in the end. The goal is to have wireless clients connected to this WiFi and can be served with applications running inside the VirtualBox -- Asterisk to be precise. The host OS is OSX 10.9.1. VirtualBox 4.3.4 running 64-bit CentOS 6.4 guest packaged as AsteriskNOW 3.0.0.

  • Answer:

I would personally use an acces point for that. Airport wifi card makes an ad-hoc connection (afaik). Just a cheap wifi router will do the job with much less hassle. That for the wifi bit. But creating a bridge should be doable. Here is how to create a bridge: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3537617?tstart=0
